                        Acceptable Internet and Electronic Mail Use Permission Form

 We are pleased to offer our students access to electronic email (email) and the Internet. To

 gain access, all students must obtain parental permission and must sign and return this form to

 their Homeroom Teacher.

 Students are responsible for good behavior on school computers just as they are in a classroom

or a library. Communications of the school's computers are public in nature. General school

rules for behavior and communication apply. These computers are intended for instructional

and educational purposes, such as conducting research, publishing work, etc. Access to these

computers is limited to students whose parents have given them permission and entails student

responsibility.   Disk storage areas are treated like school lockers, therefore files and

communications may be reviewed to maintain system integrity and ensure that the computer

system is used properly.

 

Paul Junior High Public Charter School recognizes that in the vast global community of the

Internet there is solicited and unsolicited material, which may be inappropriate for students.

Therefore, reasonable efforts will be made to provide guidance and monitor student use.

During school, staff will assist in guiding students toward appropriate materials. Outside of

school, parents or guardians are responsible for their child's appropriate use of electronic

resources. The following are not permitted in school:

                  Using the computer network for selling merchandise or operating a

                    business without written consent of the head of school

                  Sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures

                  Using obscene language

                  Harassing, insulting, or attacking others

                • Damaging computers, systems, or networks

                  Using school computers to enter or attempt to enter unauthorized systems

                  Violating copyright laws

                  Using another's password

                  Trespassing in another's folders, work, or files

                  Intentionally wasting resources

                  Revealing or using your own or other's identity or personal information

 

Violations may result in a loss of access as well as other disciplinary or legal action!

As a user of Paul Junior High School's computers, I agree to comply with the above stated

rules about communicating over the network in a responsible manner while honoring all

relevant laws and restrictions.

 

As a parent/guardian of this student I grant permission for my child to use the school computers in the above stated manner.  I understand that individuals and families may be held liable for violations.
